Almost everyone has an opinion about Jesus.

Some people think He was a good teacher, or an incredibly moral man, or that He was the Son of God. Some people don’t think that He existed, but that He was some kind of mythical figure. Whatever you believe, we can probably agree that Jesus changed things.

We believe He wants to change you too, and that He’s paved the way back to God for you.

Jesus himself said: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.  - JOHN 14:6

Trusting Jesus as the only way to God is not an exclusive path to God, it’s completely inclusive. No matter who you are, what you’ve done, no matter where you were born, the language you use, or the color of your skin, Jesus is THE way for you to have a relationship with God.

Everybody’s invited. Everybody’s included. Everybody’s important.

If you think you’re an exception to the rule, you’re wrong. Jesus loves you. No matter what you have done or have not done.

Believing in Jesus is the first step on the greatest journey of your life. You haven’t finished the
race—you’ve just gotten started.

So you want to hear from God.

You can’t have a close relationship with someone you never talk to. It’s impossible. God’s word—the Bible—is the primary way He speaks to us. And it’s the absolute best way to discover how to follow Jesus on a daily basis. If you want to know more about God and His promises, reading the Bible is your next step.

The Bible is a collection of books. The entire bible consists of 66 books, and all 66 books are helpful, encouraging, and will lead you to grow in your new relationship with Jesus.

You can download the YouVersion Bible App for free for your phone or tablet. You can read the bible or listen to it through the YouVersion Bible App.

You might want to start by reading 1 John. It is only 6 chapters, and you can read the whole book of 1 John in about 15 minutes, or you can read 1 chapter a day for 6 days.

Here’s a Bible Reading Plan that Arthur Mace recommends.

Beginning to Pray

Prayer is not complicated. Prayer is simply talking to God, anytime you want to. It doesn’t have to be at a specific time. Beginning to pray 5 minutes a day is a great initial goal. You can tell Him things that you are worried about, or things that you are celebrating. You can ask Him to lead you, guide you, and protect you. You can talk to Him not only as God, but you can talk to Him much the way that you would talk to a friend.

Baptism identifies us as being a Christ-follower and Jesus asked us to be baptized after we begin a relationship with Him.
