Salvation
Giving your Life to Christ is actually your first step. Our mission at SouthCrest is to help you find a relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe in a God who designed us to be in relationship with him and one another. The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way for us to have a relationship with God. His death removes our sin that separates us from God, who is perfect. This relationship that Jesus provides is called salvation and it occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus as payment for their sin. Salvation is a free gift from God through Christ and cannot be earned by our own efforts.
Did You Accept Jesus or Have Questions?
Baptism
After you place your faith in Christ for salvation, your next step is baptism. It’s like going public with your decision, telling the world that you identify with Jesus Christ. Baptism is a picture representing the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
During baptism, a person is submersed in water signifying the death and burial of the individual with Christ. The individual is then raised up out of the water, signifying their new life in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior but have never been baptized by immersion, we would like to encourage you to take this next step.
Baptism is an act of obedience to Christ as he commanded his followers to be baptized. It does not remove our sin, but is an outward expression of faith and transformation.
Membership
Becoming a member of SouthCrest is not something to be taken lightly. We envision every member actively ministering to others. At SouthCrest “membership means ownership.” We desire for every member to attend worship one hour, serve one hour, and attend a LifeGroup one hour each week. By joining us in membership you are desiring to support the vision of SouthCrest Church, live out the 3G’s, and invest your time, talent, and treasure in our church.
LifeGroups
We believe in Biblical community. LifeGroups are how we make a big church small. Being in a LifeGroup is a model that we see in Acts 2 & 4 where people met in homes for fellowship, to break bread, and to grow in the Lord.
Giving
We believe that the Bible teaches in Malachi 3:10, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”God calls us to give the first-tenth (10%) of all we make to him and he promises to bless us so greatly that we cannot contain it. Tithing is a matter of faith and we believe that God blesses those who honor Him in this way.
